On April 28, 2026, an Indonesian-Russian Investment Business Forum was held in St. Petersburg on the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Russia and with the assistance of the Committee on Foreign Relations of St. Petersburg. The event was aimed at developing direct contacts between companies (B2B) and the formation of long-term industrial cooperation in the fields of production, investment, export and technological innovation. The AKTAWA team took an active part in order not only to be in the center of events, but also to provide Russian exporters with maximum practical benefits.
Specific niches for Russian business Within the framework of the forum program, topics such as shipbuilding (PT PAL Indonesia) and pharmaceutical industries, mechanical engineering (Rosatom Machine Building), metallurgy (Aluminum Association), cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers (PT Pupuk Indonesia), Russia's industrial potential, trade and much more were discussed.
Delegates from Indonesia who attended the event spoke about the prospects for cooperation with Russia in various fields, focusing on the shipbuilding industry.
Indonesia's interest in Russian shipbuilding is also evidenced by the recent visit by the Commander of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Muhammad Ali, to the ships of the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet as part of a business visit to Jakarta. According to him, "the Indonesian Navy {...} has been using Soviet technology since Soviet times," and now the head of the Indonesian Navy has expressed a desire to purchase Russian naval equipment in the future, including submarines.
Speaking of shipbuilding, Russia has something to offer Indonesia in the naval field besides submarines. In particular, we can talk about Project 22800E corvettes with high impact and anti-aircraft capabilities and about marine tugboats of the project 23470 family, capable of performing towing, rescue and supply tasks.
Representatives of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Irina Karpenko, Director of the Department of External Relations of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke at the forum. The event was also attended by representatives of Rosatom. The corporation has previously worked with Indonesia during the forum dedicated to the development of the republic's nuclear industry in Jakarta (UGM Nuclear Readiness Forum 2026). The forum discussed the development of nuclear energy in Indonesia, as well as the advantages of Rosatom's step-by-step approach to the construction and development of large nuclear power plants. Rosatom is ready to become not just a technology supplier for Indonesia, but a reliable partner capable of building a full—fledged nuclear industry together with the country, from the first projects to the development of national human and technological potential," said Anna Belokoneva, head of the Rosatom representative office in Indonesia.

AKTAWA builds bridges for exporters
During the networking session, which was held at the end of the forum, the AKTAWA team held talks with a number of Russian companies interested in exporting and possessing products in demand in the Indonesian market.
RUSAL. A contact took place with a representative of RUSAL, which is currently one of the world leaders in the aluminum industry, actively reorienting exports to Asian markets.
- With the forum actively discussing the potential of integrating production chains in the aluminum industry, this partnership allows AKTAWA to act as a bridge between large Russian businesses and the growing demand of this industrial sector in Indonesia.
LENEKO. A dialogue has been established with LENECO LLC, one of the leading exporters of raw materials for the production of alternative fuels. Since 2013, LENECO has been a leader in the field of eco-friendly exports, becoming the first certified operator in the North-Western region according to international ISCC EU standards. It is worth taking into account the global trend towards "green" energy and Indonesia's demand for sustainable development, which indicates that the potential for such services is huge.
- AKTAWA can provide direct interaction with customers interested in pure raw materials.
INVEST IVANOVO. During the networking, communication was established with the state organization Invest Ivanovo. This is the state development Institute of the Ivanovo region, aimed at attracting investments to the region.
- Cooperation with AKTAWA opens up industrial enterprises in the region, including light industry and mechanical engineering.
Natural Technologies LLC. Negotiations were held with Natural Technologies LLC, a developer and manufacturer of sorbents for oil spill response. Considering the issue of shipbuilding, which was raised at the forum, in modern realities for many countries, including Indonesia, such innovations are extremely relevant, especially in the field of marine infrastructure.
- AKTAWA is ready to provide this company with tools for finding partners and distribution.
