The product is a three-dimensional structural solution (box-shaped, mattress-shaped or cylindrical) made of metal twisted wire mesh with hexagonal cells. To protect against corrosion, the mesh is coated with zinc, polymer compounds (PVC) or an alloy of zinc and aluminum. The gabions are filled with stone (rubble, gravel) and form a monolithic, water-permeable, but shear-resistant structure. The field of application is coastal protection, protection of riverbeds from erosion, the construction of retaining walls, the strengthening of slopes and ravines, noise screens, as well as architectural design of landscapes.
